Advertising Policy

Effective date: October 2025

Last updated: November 2025

Wellcend accepts advertising, sponsored content, and affiliate partnerships in ways that support our editorial mission and preserve reader trust. Our Advertising policy explains what advertising we accept, how ads appear, our disclosure practices, and how advertisers can request placements.

If you have questions or a request, contact ads@wellcend.com or info@wellcend.com.

Our advertising principles

We follow four core principles for all advertising and partnerships:

  • Transparency: Ad content is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish advertising from editorial content.
  • Independence: Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial relationships. Advertisers do not influence review scores or editorial recommendations.
  • Safety: We reject ads that promote dangerous, illegal, or deceptive products or services.
  • Relevance: We prefer wellness-related advertisers that align with our audience and editorial standards.

These principles protect our readers and maintain Wellcend’s credibility.

Types of ad content we accept

We accept a variety of ad formats when they meet our standards and legal requirements:

We review each campaign before launch and reserve the right to decline placements.

Ad content we will not accept

We reject advertising for the following categories and content types:

  • Illegal products or services.
  • Unproven or unsafe medical claims, miracle cures, or deceptive health claims.
  • Tobacco products, recreational drugs, and paraphernalia.
  • Weapons, ammunition, or instructions for harmful activities.
  • Pornographic adult services and explicit sexual content.
  • Fraudulent schemes, get-rich-quick offers, or phishing material.
  • Misleading or false advertising that omits material facts.
  • Any content that promotes discrimination or hate.

If an advertiser believes their content was wrongly rejected, they may appeal using ads@wellcend.com.

Sponsored content can appear on Wellcend when it meets our editorial standards and is clearly labelled. Key points:

  • Sponsored content must be truthful and supported by evidence for any health or performance claims.
  • Sponsored articles will include a prominent label such as Sponsored Content or Paid Partner.
  • Editorial staff control final copy for clarity, accuracy, and compliance. Advertisers cannot require specific ratings, review outcomes, or editorial endorsements.
  • We publish a sponsorship disclosure statement on each sponsored page. Example label: Sponsored Content: [Sponsor Name].

Affiliate relationships and disclosures

Wellcend participates in affiliate programs. Core rules:

  • Affiliate links are disclosed in-line on pages that include them. A clear affiliate disclosure appears near article headings or in a persistent site footer.
  • Affiliate partnerships do not affect editorial scores or independent reviews. Editorial staff retain sole discretion for ratings and recommendations.
  • When affiliate links are used in sponsored content, that dual relationship is disclosed clearly.

Ad labelling and user experience

We require every ad placement to include clear signals to users:

  • Display ads are visually distinct from editorial content via borders or spacing.
  • Native and sponsored content include an explicit label at the top of the piece that uses words such as Sponsored or Partner Content.
  • Email sponsorships are labelled in the subject or header.
  • We avoid autoplay audio ads and intrusive overlays that block content navigation.

Third-party ad networks and tracking

We use third-party ad networks and may place tracking pixels for ad targeting and measurement. Practices include:

  • We disclose the use of cookies and trackers in our Cookie Policy and Cookie Preferences pages.
  • Users can manage cookie choices on our Cookie Preferences page.
  • Advertisers that use tracking pixels must comply with applicable privacy laws and our privacy standards.

Advertisers must provide a list of tracking domains and confirm compliance prior to launch.

Advertiser requirements and vetting

All advertisers must complete our vetting process, which includes:

  • Business identification and contact information.
  • A description of products or services and representative creatives.
  • Legal compliance confirmation for claims and endorsements.
  • Proof of any medical, safety, or efficacy claims via primary sources, if applicable.
  • Agreement to our placement, labelling, and content standards.

We reserve the right to run a background check or require additional documentation for health-related products.

Pricing, contracts, and terms

  • Standard placements and pricing are handled via a campaign proposal and an advertising agreement.
  • We require signed terms before launch and a 50 percent deposit for new advertisers unless credit terms are pre-approved.
  • Cancellation and refund terms are set in the contract. Material breaches, including misrepresentation or repeated policy violations, may result in immediate termination of the campaign and forfeiture of payments.

Contact ads@wellcend.com for media kit, pricing, and contract samples.

Monitoring, enforcement, and remediation

We monitor live campaigns for compliance. Actions for policy violations include:

  • Warning and request to correct the creative or landing page.
  • Immediate pausing of ad delivery for serious or repeated violations.
  • Permanent removal of the advertiser from our platform for egregious breaches.
  • Public correction or disclosure if an ad made materially false health claims.

Advertisers are given an opportunity to respond to compliance findings. Appeals are handled through ads@wellcend.com.

Example ad label copy

Use one of the following label styles for sponsored content:

  • Sponsored Content: [Sponsor Name]
  • Paid Partner: [Sponsor Name]

Labels must be visible at the start of the content and remain visible on mobile screens.

Accessibility and ad experience

We require ad creatives and landing pages to follow basic accessibility practices:

  • Include meaningful alt text for image creatives where possible.
  • Avoid motion or flashing content that can trigger seizures.
  • Provide keyboard-accessible interactive ad experiences.

Advertisers must confirm accessible alt text and accessibility testing as part of the vetting form.

Data protection and privacy

Advertisers, ad servers, and partners must comply with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR and CCPA, where relevant. Advertiser obligations:

  • Provide a transparent notice about data collection on landing pages.
  • Honour do-not-track and opt-out signals when required.
  • Execute data processing agreements if handling personal data on our behalf.

See our Privacy Policy for further details.
